Plastic is a moldable material which is an organic polymer. Polymer is any substance made by combining infinite small units. We live in the age of plastic. They are mostly synthetic and derived from petrochemicals. Plastic can be used to make a large number of products. Plastic is inert and environmentally friendly but some impurities added in it for its durability are very toxic. Moreover, plastic is slowly degraded by certain bacteria and fungi leading to its accumulation in water and causing toxicity for marine animals and thus ultimately affecting humans. However, thermo plastic can be recycled. Plastic is used in the manufacturing toys, furniture and utensils.
