Nowadays, everyone is directly or indirectly involved in using technology. In today’s century, the use of advanced technology has made one’s daily life work easier, simpler and much organized. Technology is advancing each and every day especially the things we use the most as computers, software’s as well as cell phones. Internet has become like an air to breathe, and water to drink. People use gadgets for the sake of entertainment and to release boredom. Hence, technology does have a number of advantages, such as, online classes, online shopping, making communication easier, news and much more. Along with having positive effects, on the other side, it also does carry negative effects.
Advanced technology does carry negative impacts upon the society overall. Addiction to technology has made people lazy and lethargic. Rather than participating in outdoor and extracurricular activities, they spend most of the time in indoor activities. Inspite of the fact that advanced technology does facilitate people tasks as well as duties; it may weaken human bodies, destroy nature, and also ruin good values regarding social communication that may damage one’s life in the near future.
Furthermore, health problems caused by usage of technology are an important issue, mainly among the teenagers. They pay excessive amount of price depending on social networks, TV and computer games. It can have large impact on user’s mental, psychological and physical health. Being overly connected can cause psychological problems leading to distraction, narcissism and depression. This much dependence may lead to serious health problems like sleep deprivation, vision problems, obesity, cancer, neck strain and much more. Some may also go in to intense depression, if deprived, from the usage of technology for a day.
I understand that technology is important in today’s century, but its use somehow shall be lessened. It may cause problems in the future that might become difficult to overcome for an individual. New technologies are invented each year, with new specifications that fancy an individual in buying it. Its usage becomes excessive that becomes hard to control. We all need to think about the downsides of modern technology, and need to overcome this together for a better future.
