Dear John,
I regret to inform you I will not be able to make it to our most awaited get-together next week. Please, kindly reschedule it, my sincere apologies for cancelling it, and letting you know at this point when everything was finalized regarding the get-together. I was really looking forward to it, but with great sadness I have to cancel it.
As you know I was supposed to take next Friday off, for our get-together, but my boss just informed me that there is a very important business meeting on that day. My presence in the meeting is vital, and we will be travelling out of town for the meeting. I first thought if it is being held in our office, I might be able to catch up with you on that day, but then I was informed that we have to travel out of town for the meeting ,which made it impossible for me to make it to our get-together .
No need to feel sad about the cancellation of our get-together, I have a brilliant idea for our rescheduled get-together. I heard from a friend that one week from now, there is going to be end of season sale in all markets and malls. So instead of meeting at your place or my place, we can meet up, and catch up where we left at a mall nearby. Moreover, we could also go for a movie afterwards.
Let me know what you think of this plan of mine. I promise, I’ll make it up to you, for cancelling this one. I hope you accept my apology. I can’t wait to see you soon.
