Fat people are define as individuals who have a body weight that is consider higher than average weight specific for their height and sex. Another way of judging anyone s’ weight is using the BMI known as the body mass index which involves body weight over height in meter square. I do agree with the statement illustrated above, fat people are fat due to poor eating habits.
According to me this is not the only factor in fact it is one of the factors. When we talk about bad eating habits then it means that people are not aware of what they are eating? What are their body requirements? How to consume all the calories that they have taken in their body though their mouth?
The most important thing that can make people fat is sedentary life style. Sitting all the time on the chair while on the job or at home in front of the laptop. Using cars or motor bikes rather than cycles and walking on foot. Avoiding exercise and consuming a lot of calories in the form of soft drinks and fast food can cause individuals to have increased weight. Moreover, many people don’t know that what they are eating. Judging the food on the basis of taste can be quite devastating. People are inclined to eat fast food though, it seems to be quite light and tasty but indeed it is full of calories making it unsuitable for daily use. They contain saturated fats that can cause thickening and blockage of blood vessels, heart disease, elevated blood pressure and brain damage. They can also cause cancer of large intestine. In contrast to this, diet rich in fibers like vegetables, salads and conventional continental food can be far better than fast food. As they increase the bowel movements and prevent the development of diseases.
Some people don’t agree with this statement as they attribute genetics and family history as the sole cause of their obesity. This statement is not valid as recent evidence doesn’t prove this point. Making people aware of what they are eating, developing the habit of regular exercise, maintain a count of number meals taken every day can do a hell of good. Moreover, public awareness regarding importance of exercise can promote general health in our community.
