Age is thought to be associated with variable degree of efficacy and it is believed that it declines as the age progresses. That is why some people are of the opinion that young people must replace the advanced age people. However experience, health and carelessness are the other factors effecting the productivity.
Health and energy levels are maximum when we are young and that is why we can work day and night without getting much tired. As we grow older the converse is true. we tend to get tire early and can’t work for long hours .we may also be suffering from so many diseases as the age advances resulting in overall decrease in productivity.
The supervisory role of older people can’t be denied since With advancing age one tend to be more experienced in his field and is better able to understand and rationalize the day to day challenges while the younger people are not much experienced since they might have just graduated or have recently joined the practical field. And we at young age generally are unable to rationalize the practical limitation
Because of the health ailment older people are more prone to absenteeism than the young ones which is another factor with great impact on the effectiveness. However on the hand the youngs tend to be more careless than the older peers. Both of the above mentioned are the important denominators with a great impact on the outcome.
In my opinion, there has to be combination of team comprising of both with elders being more of a supervisory role
