Some people say that main environmental problem of our time is the loss of particular species of plants and animals.Others saythat there are more important environmental problems. Discuss both point of view and give your own opinion

It is often agreed that loss of plants and animals species such as dinosaurs,markhor is chief environmental problem while others are of opinion that more serious environmental problems like global warming and pollution also exist. This essay agrees in favour of the later and will discuss both point of views.

Notable people believe that loss of plant species is unfavourable and it mostly happens when myriad of people start changing fertile land into commercial and residential areas because of non availability of funds from government. They start cutting trees and cease cultivation of plants and in return lose rare plants and cause appreciable loss to nature. Evidence of this practice is decrease planting of sunflower in our country. According to research from Botanical institute of France, Pakistan’s sunflower production had decreased from 70% to 30% in last 7 years.

In addition to this,world has already lost many animal species like dinosaurs and is on verge of losing more in near future. Hunters are to be blamed more for this act because they keep on hunting rare animals illegally and in result, we lose whole species which is significant loss for environment. Endangered species of markhor is very good example of this scenario which is now near to extinction in our country.

On the other hand, many people reckon that in addition to plants and animals extermination, many serious problems also exist which are prime risk for our surroundings such as global warming, which is one of the paramount danger and affecting our lives badly.Radiations produced as a result of climate change are source of many health problems. For instance,death rate has been increased by 3% in last decade due to acidic rain, dirtier air and heat waves which are major side effects of global warming.

On the whole,indeed plants and animals destruction can cause adverse ramification but on the contrary I believe that other environmental problems are more deadly than these and should be addressed more intensely.
