Music is a form of art-the art of creating symphonies, and tunes. It comes in various styles: Jazz, Classical, Folklore, Pop, Rock, Opera, Instrumental, Etc. It’s native to a region,or a country.
Music has been used as a mode of entertainment, and pleasure seeking from many years. It relaxes, soothes, and refreshes ones mind. Some people say that it harmonizes with their souls. They feel better after listening to refreshing music. It also effects a persons mood. It can make someone happy or sad. One can experience “Trance”- a state of being lost in a magical place. The mind liberates itself from the material things and suddenly one can find itself at peace with its thoughts.
Music changes with the culture, language and region. For example, country people have a distinct “Country Music”, Arabs have music instruments like “Daff”. Punjabis have “Bhangra music”, Scottish have “pipes”, Englishmen have “piano , and opera”, and Pakistanis have “Dholak music”.
Nowadays, due to the ease of cross-border data access via internet, music has become an international entity.people have developed new tastes, and adopted foreign music. Musicians are switching their styles from traditional to modern and mixed music. Making of traditional music is plummeting. Cultural music, once, used to be a representative of its people.
In my view, local music is,definitely, more imperative than foreign music. It keeps a culture alive, and forms a coherence between its people. It is the core characteristic of a society which should be preserved, and cherished.
