I disagree that capital punishment is essential to control violence in society. Capital punishment does not make our lives secure or decrease the crimes of violence because the person who is convicted and punished is not the main culprit most of the time, and the crime may increase if the relatives of punished criminal try to take revenge from public.
In most cases, the act of violence or target killing is done by hitmen who does this just for the sake of money and when that person is caught no one believes about the main planner. Because the main culprit is mostly rich and is a person of great influence. For example, some rich businessmen or politicians hire criminals to get their job done and those hired criminals are only held responsible if they are caught. This does not deter the real culprit to stop doing such violent activities, but they could hire another person by offering money. Thus, capital punishment does not decrease crime because the main culprit goes unpunished most of the time.
Secondly, capital punishment also creates bad impression of law enforcement agencies in the minds of families who experience it. People who are punished for the sake of earning money provides their family member and friends the opportunity to avenge the blood by doing criminal activities against law enforcement agencies. For instance, if a father is convicted and hanged to death, there is a possibility that someone from his children will choose to become criminal just to seek revenge of his father against police officers. Hence, the crime will increase in the society.
Therefore, I believe capital punishment is not essential to control violence in society. Rather, life sentence with community work should be promoted to change the mindset of criminals.

I disagree that capital punishment is essential to control violence in society. Capital punishment does not make our lives secure because the accused is not exact culprit most of the time, and no one has right to take the life of others.
In most cases, target killing is done by mercenary who do this just for the sake of money so accused is not the exact culprit because the main culprit is mostly rich and is a person of great influence. For example, some rich businessmen or politicians hire mercenaries for criminal activities. This does not deter the real culprit to stop doing such violent activities, for they could hire another person by offering money. Thus, capital punishment does not decrease crime because the main culprit goes unpunished most of the time.
Secondly, I believe no one has right to deprive someone from the life. Even though it is the responsibility of law enforcement agencies to maintain law and order, it does not acquit them for giving death sentence to anyone. Rather, the criminals must be diverted towards community service work which actually changes their mindset and make them good citizen. For example, the prisoners could be allocated task to serve other prisoners.
Therefore, I believe capital punishment does not make our lives secure or reduce crimes of violence. In order to reduce violence in society capital punishment must be replaced with community work in order to change the mindset of criminals.
