The operation blue star is the name given to the attack done by the Indian armed forces on the golden temple to catch Jarmil Singh Bhandrwala under the orders of Andhra Gandhi. The man was accused of storing weapons in the golden temple and he was killed during the attack. This attack on the holy religious place of Sikh community raised agitation, protest and hatred in the Sikh community in the entire world. There are many interesting things about this operation. First Bhandrwala remained in contact with Andhra Gandhi throughout his entire life. Moreover the sitting army chief forbade her to go for a military action but he was removed from his post and the new chief of army staff was appointed who lead this attack but was killed by two Sikhs during the operation. The PM was also assassinated 4 months after this operation by two of her Sikh body guards. This made the situation even worse and led to the killing of Sikh community in the entire India. Last but not the least there was a complete media blackout during the operation so this also raised speculations regarding the death toil and violation of human rights during the attack.
