Allama Iqbal is one of my favorite poets. He is not only a poet, but also a philosopher and a thinker. He is our national poet. His poetry is greatly revered among the Muslim world, as he wrote to awaken the sleeping Muslims of sub-continent. His famous books are Bang-e-dara, Bal-i-jibril and Zarb-e-kalim. One can have an immense pleasure while reading his poetry, as there language is as beautiful as there idea is. The combination of these two takes him to artistic perfection. He is also known as “Poet of the East”.He also wrote for the unity of Muslim Ummah. I really like him as he has showed us the right path. Moreover, his poetry illuminates our path.
