They are conducted every four yearly with summer and winter Olympics every 2 years apart. The top athletes in every event are awarded with medals. The idea of these games is originally derive from Greek games held in Olympia from 8th B.C to 4th A.D. In addition to promoting sports and introducing a softer image of the nation, they are also a great economic boast for the country.
