It involves study of mental function and human behavior. It is a very broad subject and its main aim is to characterize the way human beings behave in a particular social setting or in a given situation, this refers to the social aspect of this subject called as sociology. The other aspect involves behavioral and cognitive dimensions of human race. Behavioral psychology involves the study of human and animal behavior in a neutral environment and by the aid of different experiments. Last but not the least the cognitive study, depicts the problem solving ability of humans using their back ground knowledge and then processing and utilizing this information to reach a specific conclusion for the current scenario. This was a general idea about the subject but there are many drawbacks of this subject. Critics believe that this subject lacks the practical aspect of modern science as humans cannot be subjected to active experimentation due ethical issues.
